With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Reginald Lamar King, who left this world on December 21, 2024, at the age of 37. Born on June 22, 1988, to Calvin King and Elaine/Lawrence Guyton. Reginald was a bright and loving soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. His untimely departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends. Reginald's journey is nothing short of inspiring. As a proud graduate of New Hope High School, he set the bar high, earning well-deserved high honors through his unwavering dedication to excellence. His passion for learning carried him to East Mississippi Community College, where he earned his degree in Automotive Technology, a perfect reflection of his hands-on approach and deep curiosity for mechanics. Reginald's career has been a beautiful continuation of this drive—first as a machine tech at PAC CAR and then as an engineer at Columbus Air Force Base. His five years in each role speak volumes about his skill, commitment, and relentless pursuit of perfection in everything he does. Every step he’s taken has been a testament to his passion and the incredible work ethic that makes him not just a professional, but a true craftsman in his field. However, Reginald's greatest joy in life was his beloved son, Brayden King. From the moment Brayden was born, Reginald poured his heart and soul into being the best father he could be, finding immeasurable happiness in every moment they shared. His love for Brayden was boundless, unwavering, and pure—a reflection of the deep devotion that defined his character. Family was always at the center of Reginald's world, and the love he had for them was unconditional, a constant source of strength and inspiration. Being a father wasn’t just a role to Reginald; it was his greatest privilege, his greatest pride, and his truest joy. Reginald was preceded in death by his great grandparents Gertrude and Charlie Cunningham and Eddy T Lowe, grandfathers, James Guyton and Henry Watson his grandmothers, Margaret King and Nancy Cobb; his uncles, James Earl Donald, William Darnell and his aunts, Mara Woods, Ruby Pulliam, Denise Guyton, and Alice Guyton. He leaves behind his parents Elaine and Lawrence Guyton, his fiancée, LaShanda Gandy; his son, Brayden King; his sister, Carren King; his brother, Calvin Kendal King; his nephew, Camren Deshawn King; his niece, Arianna Elaine King; his grandparents, Rebecca Lowe Woods, Gwenda and Henry Lewis, and Andrew King; his aunts, Shirley Hicks, Mae Tate, Marie and Dennis Hamilton, Patricia and Tavakoli Stinson, Shirley Buchanan, Leslie King, Lilly King, and Felicia Butt; and his uncles, Charles Darnell, Andrew King Jr., Jeff King, James and Sharon Guyton, Henry and Fatima Guyton, Paul and Minnie Guyton, Deonte and Mia Cox, Terance and Lena Butt, and Rodrick and Priscilla Cobb. His family will forever cherish the memories of his kind spirit, love for life, and his unwavering support for those he loved. Reginald's passion for cars was never just a job—it was an expression of his relentless drive, boundless creativity, and deep love for precision. His hands not only built engines but crafted dreams, each turn of the wrench a testament to his dedication. But Reginald was more than a master of machines—he was also a black belt in martial arts, demonstrating the same discipline, focus, and determination in every kick and punch as he did in his craft. His heart, as expansive as his ambitions, left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. With his humor, warmth, and caring spirit, he touched lives, making everyone around him feel seen, heard, and loved. Though we mourn the loss of Reginald, we find comfort in the knowledge that his love will never fade. It lives on in the heart of his son, Brayden, in the warmth of his family, and in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. Reginald’s spirit, his laughter, his unwavering devotion, and his deep capacity for love will continue to echo in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
